Sopron Early Music Days 2011

18-25. June 2011.

The Early Music Days festival is the forum of the best Hungarian and foreign historical music performers and ensembles. It offers debuting opportunities to career-starters, participation opportunities on world-famous professors’ master courses and it also encourages and supports performances of forgotten or only recently discovered treasures of the world’s music history. The motto of the 2011 Early Music Days will be “the Viennese Classics”, to which will all master courses and concerts relate to. When proposing to the master courses’ professors and the performing artists, we put the 18th century’s music in focus. Haydn’s and Mozart’s works will make up a significant part of the program. Both the master classes and the programs of the concerts will combine this with the music of the predecessors: the Baroque composers and the successors: Beethoven’s, Schubert’s and others’ works.
