CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The competition is open to piano players of all nationalities who were born on or after 1 January 1979.
APPLICATION
All of the following documents must be enclosed with the application form:
a/ brief curriculum vitae
b/ certificate of musical qualification
c/ letter of recommendation from a prominent personality in music life
d/ ID or passport copy
e/ two recent photographs with your name on the back
f/ the copy of the receipt about the transfer of the entry fee
The entry fee of equivalent to EUR 140 is to be remitted to the following bank account:

The application is valid only after the entry fee is paid in and the letter of confirmation has been received. The entry fee will not be refunded to contestants who withdraw from the competition.
The number of participants will be determined by the Organizing Committee which reserves the right of pre-selection.
Candidates will be informed of the acceptance of their application by 10 June 2011.
THE STRUCTURE OF THE COMPETITION
The competition is divided into three rounds: preliminary, semi-final, final.
Singers in the semi-final will be ensured by the organizers of the competition.
Finalists perform twice during the final round.
All rounds will be open to the public.
The order of appearance will be decided by ballot at the opening of the competition. This order will be valid throughout the competition.
Before each stage competitors have the opportunity of a short rehearsal at the venue of the competition.
After the distribution of the prizes, the prize winners will perform at a Gala Concert. No payment will be made for this or any of the contestants‘ performances, radio and TV recordings during the competition, and any further use of these recordings.
JURY
The jury will evaluate the performances with points ranging from 1 to 25 and will handle the points strictly confidential.
The competitors selected for the next round will be listed in alphabetical order.
According to plans the jury will select 12 contestants for the semi-final and 6 contestants for the final round.

ACCOMMODATION
The organizers of the competition offer a reduced-price accommodation possibility for the participants of the competition and their accompaniment. Detailed information will be provided after the acceptance of the application.
Those selected to play in the final will be the guests of Philharmonia Budapest Concert Agency till the end of the competition.

Beyond these prizes concert engagements and special prizes will be offered to the winners by foreign and Hungarian institutions, festivals and concert organizers.

REPERTOIRE OF THE COMPETITION
I. PRELIMINARY
Competitors should play pieces by Liszt in 20 minutes. The program schuld include two etudes.
II. SEMI FINAL
Programme of own choice in the duration of 40 minutes compiled from Liszt’s works with the following restrictions

**In case the participant chooses the Songs from Wilhelm Tell, the performance of no further song is required
B/ The programme can comprise any work by Liszt (including pieces from his last
decade) as well as transcriptions (his own and other composers’ works).
III. FINAL
Competitors will perform twice
A) Liszt: Sonata in B minor (R. 21; S. 178)
B) Competitor must choose two orchestral pieces in the following combination
1. Liszt: Concerto Nr.1 in E flat major (R. 455; S. 124) and
Totentanz – Dance macabre (R. 457; S. 126)
or
2. Liszt: Concerto Nr.2 in A major (R. 456; S. 125) and
Hungarian Phantasie
The jury marks out one of the two selected pieces for performance.
